Episode 40: The two envelopes

Jeong Do-jeon suspects that the Mansang Merchant Group is part Nameless; he orders the Kyangge magistrate to arrest all the merchants. He sends the red envelope Yeon-hee through a Hwasadan spy, but the envelope gets stolen.

A Nameless agent kills Seon-dol (Boon-yi’s follower), but Seon-dol has already passed on the red envelope somebody else.

The red envelope ends up Boon-yi’s hands. After grieving over Seon-dol, she meets Bang-won and Jeong Do-jeon the cave.

After Prince Hwean (“Bang-gan”) and Lord Min bring Bang-won him, King Taejo asks Bang-won pointblank if he’s working Nameless.

the palace, Young-kyu overhears Lee Shin Jeok arguing Officer Nam Eun about how Jeong Do-jeon has bypassed the State Tribunal favor Hwasadan. He reports it immediately Bang-won.

the cave, Boon-yi confronts Jeong Do-jeon and Bang-won; she wants no more killings and wants to leave her followers.

After a tense verbal confrontation Bang-won, Jeong Do-jeon offers to settle Boon-yi and her followers Banchon, the village servants Sungkyungkwan.

Lee Shin Jeok swears his allegiance Bang-won, but Bang-won rejects him. saying that he is Jeong Do-jeon’s spy. Meanwhile, Yeon-hee finds out where Cho-young is hiding, and Jeong Do-jeon sends his men to arrest her.

Bang-won gets caught a trap Shin-jeok and Cho-young (former head Hwasadan). Arresting him are Jeong Do-jeon and King Taejo himself.
